ROYAL WORLDS MARGARITS KAREVA

Margarita Kareva began studying photography relatively recently – only about two years ago. Now her portfolio is already a gallery of unique images – magical, beautiful, vivid and memorable. Margarita told us about her understanding of creativity and the genre of artistic production photography in a special interview.
– Margarita, hello! Please tell us how long have you been shooting and how did you discover a photo?
– It all started very unexpectedly: two years ago, my husband for the new year gave me a Canon 500D reflex camera. A couple of months later I signed up for a basic course at a local photo school. In terms of my development as a professional photographer, this photo school did not really help me, but after it I definitely understood: I really like taking photos.

– Fanatically began to shoot in the summer of 2011. It turned out far from masterpieces. I studied everything very intensively, I watched the work of foreign photographers. So, slowly, accumulated experience. A big role was played by the master classes of photographers: Ilya Rashap, Oleg Tityaev, Sergey Iron.
– Which genre of photography is most interesting to you?
– Staged (art) photo in the style of fantasy.

– By what principle do you choose models?
– I like vintage slim girls with clear transparent skin, long natural hair. I love redheads. I like the naturalness.
– Is there a particularly memorable shooting and image you created?
– I like all my animal shots. I love them and feel great pleasure when working with them. Most of all I remember the husky kennel, where we took pictures. These are just amazing dogs.
– Do you conduct master classes? If so, what is the first thing you want to teach the audience?
– Since I’m filming not so long ago, I was afraid to hold workshops for some time, although there were offers. She thought that she herself was just learning (smiles).
– Then I began to conduct training online, and in March 2013, I might spend my first master class in another city. I will try to tell as much as possible everything I know and have learned myself.
– What goal in photography would you like to achieve?
– I want to become a really good photographer, recognizable in Russia and even abroad. I will study, study and study again.
– How do you evaluate the modern Russian photo industry?
– To be honest, I have not yet appreciated it (smiles). I think it is not very developed yet, even if we compare the average level of our photographers and European ones.
– If there were an opportunity to make a trip in time, where would you go to a photo shoot?
– I am madly in love with France in the times of Louis XIV.

– Are there masters of classical and modern photography, whose works you are targeting?
– Ilya Rashap, Anka Zhuravleva, Sergey Iron, Danil Kontorovich, Paolo Rovers, Jan Saudek. the list is very large.
– How important is photoshop in your work?
– Very important. For my style of shooting (art photo) photoshop is a must. I constantly hone the level of processing.
– What do you find inspiration and sources of ideas for your photos?
– In the books.
– What is a photograph for you?
– The possibility of self-realization. Long sought the cause of life and, apparently, found.
– Can you give some tips to novice photographers?
– Learn every day, to gain experience and to spend at first a lot of creative shooting.
